A BRIDGE TOO FAR
As part of the Calgary Ring Road, completion of
the northwest section required twinning the first
Stoney Trail bridge over the Bow River, including the
construction of a new a new five-span river crossing.
The new bridge was segmentally cast-in-place using
a balanced cantilever method and was opened to
traffic in 2023. The project received a 2024 Consulting
Engineers of Alberta Award of Merit.
