The Toronto Transit Commission is upgrading its fleet, including 264 new streetcars
($1.613 billion), new Wheel-Trans vehicles ($363 million) as well as hybrid and electric
buses ($4.413 billion). An electrification program ($766 million) covers the electrification infrastructure to support the charging of electric buses according to the Green Bus
Technology Plan approved by the TTC Board. In 2022 the program aimed to complete
design for Eglinton, Wilson and Malvern garages and phase two construction at Wilson

three TTC garages (Arrow Road, Mt. Dennis and Eglinton) and plans electrification of the
entire fleet by 2036. For the electric and hybrid bus projects, the TTC aims to deliver the
pilot vehicle for the next round of procurement and start full production delivery in 2022.
The Wheel-Trans project plans to deliver 109 seven-metre Wheel-Trans buses in 2022, as
well as start design and award the contract for the next round of six-metre buses.

The SE Segment is Phase 1 of the Green Line Light Rail Transit project, the City of Calgary’s largest-ever infrastructure investment. The SE Segment, from Shepard in the southeast to the Event Centre/Grand Central Station
in the Beltline, will build the first 16 kilometres of an overall 46-kilometre vision, before connecting with the future
Downtown Segment and into the existing Red and Blue LRT Lines. Including the Downtown Segment, Phase 1 will
build, 17.2 kilometres of twin-track LRT infrastructure, 12 new stations, a maintenance and storage facility, three
Park and Ride lots, and 28 new modern low-floor light rail vehicles.
