Nicolle Butcher
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) appointed Nicolle Butcher as president and CEO to replace Ken Hartwick, who retired at the end of 2024
after nearly nine years with the company. Previously as OPG’s COO,
Butcher oversaw one of North America’s largest, most diverse electricity generating fleets. In addition to her extensive operational experience, she has led
the company’s corporate business growth and development, and commercial business
functions, including energy trading and market affairs.
Chris Gower, Dave Filipchuk
PCL Construction announced the succession transition
for the position of president and CEO, with the appointment of Chris Gower as the ninth president and CEO
of PCL in its 118-year history. Gower previously held the
position of deputy CEO, and before that was COO, overseeing PCL’s building operations
in Canada, the United States and Australia. He has been a key figure in PCL’s Office
of the CEO and Board of Directors and, while guiding numerous landmark projects
across North America. Dave Filipchuk stepped into the role of chair of PCL Construction’s Board of Director, continuing an over 40-year career with the company, including
the last eight years as President and CEO.
John Gorman
Westinghouse Electric Company named John Gorman as its newly
appointed president, Westinghouse Canada. In this role, Gorman will
be responsible for leading all external affairs in Canada with responsibility to drive strategic growth across Westinghouse’s full suite of product and service offerings. Gorman is a highly respected and trusted industry leader
with more than 25 years of expertise in government relations, economic development
and public policy. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of the Canadian
Nuclear Association.
Candice White
The Ontario government appointed Candice White as the new CEO of
Skilled Trades Ontario. White brings over a decade of executive level
experience, including serving as the CAO for multiple municipalities,
most recently the Municipality of Port Hope, and on boards of provincial agencies.
Wayne Ferguson
EllisDon Corporation appointed Wayne Ferguson to COO and EVP of its
Services division. He previously held the position of SVP, Construction,
Buildings, encompassing Ottawa, Quebec, and the Atlantic Canada
regions. Ferguson is a 27-year veteran with EllisDon, having joined
in 1998, and brings an educational background in construction management. He
significantly contributed to projects such as Toronto South Detention Centre, Toronto
Western Hospital, and the Art Gallery of Ontario Transformation, along with many other
flagship projects.
Brynn Nheiley
Sustainable Buildings Canada (SBC) announced the appointment
of Brynn Nheiley as its new executive director. Most recently, Brynn
served as the executive director of Community Planning, Regulation
& Mobility for the City of Burlington. In this role, she led pivotal urban
policy, mobility, and development initiatives, focusing on responsible growth that integrates both environmental and social values. Her previous experience in architecture,
including contributions to key transit projects for the Toronto Transit Commission and
various healthcare and educational facilities, lends her a holistic view of the built
environment.

Michael Fedchyshyn
The Building Ontario Fund announced the appointment of Michael Fedchyshyn as its inaugural CEO, to help advance its mandate to invest in
revenue-generating infrastructure projects across the province. Fedchyshyn
brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in strategic corporate
development, infrastructure investing, structured finance, and public-private contracting.
Previously, he served as Interim CEO at Invest Ontario. Prior, he held senior leadership
positions at Infrastructure Ontario where he led the creation of the Transit Oriented Communities program.
Dr. Muaz Fagiar
HKA welcomed Dr. Muaz Fagiar to its Calgary construction claims management team. Dr. Fagiar joins HKA as a Director with over 15 years of experience specializing in contract and claims management, project controls, and
dispute resolution. He is a subject matter expert in critical path method
scheduling, delay and disruption analysis, and claims management, mitigation, and avoidance. He has worked on several major infrastructure projects in Western Canada, such as
the Valley Line LRT.
Nathan Sikkes, Warren Lippitt
McElhanney Ltd. announced the appointments of Nathan
Sikkes, P.Eng., to the role of Energy and Resources Market
Sector vice president for both B.C. and Alberta and Warren
Lippitt, P.Eng, as Prairies South Regional vice president.
Sikkes has been at McElhanney since 2004 where he previously led the Major Projects
team, and since 2019 as a McElhanney board member. Lippitt has nearly two decades at
McElhanney leading teams to support clients across Southern Alberta, including three years
overseeing McElhanney’s Canmore branch, and five years serving on the McElhanney board.
Stephen Toth
Stephen Toth joined Infrastructure BC as vice president, Infrastructure
Construction and Delivery. As part of the executive team, he will provide
leadership on managing owner obligations of construction contracts during
design and construction for vertical infrastructure and related corporate
strategic initiatives and operations. Toth has 16 years of leadership experience managing
and leading high-performance teams and 14 years of federal public sector experience in
senior leadership roles managing and administering defence projects.
Al Boissonneault
CIMA+ announced the appointment of Al Boissonneault as director,
Sudbury – Resources & Industry markets. Boissonneault brings a deep
understanding of the area and its customers, having dedicated his career
to working in the region. With over 23 years of experience, he has been
involved in some of Canada’s largest underground mining operations and major projects.
Andrea Johnson, Jim Weir, Stan McGillis
Stantec named Andrea Johnson senior
vice-president and business leader for its
buildings practice, Jim Weir as regional
growth leader in Canada and Stan McGillis
as infrastructure sector leader for Program and Construction Management (PMCM) in
Canada. Johnson has more than 25 years’ experience in the architecture and engineering
industry. She joined Stantec in 2004, rising to director of marketing and business development for buildings in 2016 and VP of growth and strategy for buildings in 2022. Weir most
recently held the position of senior vice president of horizontal infrastructure at Morrison
Hershfield, overseeing teams working on roads, highways, and bridges projects. McGillis
most recently served as the vice president of Morrison Hershfield’s Canadian Transportation
Services Program.
