Celebrating the Biggest Infrastructure Projects in Canada
N FEBRUARY 25, senior executives from across Canada’s public infrastructure sector gathered at The Carlu in downtown Toronto to celebrate over
$300 billion in megaproject development.
Ehren Cory, CEO of the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) provided
keynote remarks at the annual event, discussing the many investments
made by the CIB and the opportunities that re昀氀ect its priority sectors
for investment—green infrastructure, clean power, public transit, trade and
transportation, and broadband infrastructure.
“The CIB is a dedicated team of professionals who’ve joined the bank with
common purpose, to 昀椀nd unique, innovative ways to get the infrastructure built
that this country needs,” said Cory, who was previously, the CEO of Infrastructure Ontario.
“These projects are real, they’re tangible and they’re getting the infrastructure
built and closing the gaps we have across this country. We’re really proud of this
progress and we’re also always working to make it better for Canada.”
Cory’s address coincided with CIB’s Q3 Market Update. “This quarter, the
CIB has reached 79 investments and over $13.4 billion dollars committed,” he
said. “More than 58 projects that we invested in are now in active progress. Five
projects are complete and delivering public good outcomes for Canadians.”
