Kerry Neil, Isabel Piraux
GHD appointed two regional general managers for
Canada, Kerry Neil for Western Canada and Isabel
Piraux, P.Eng., for Eastern Canada. Neil has worked for
GHD for more than 16 years, serving as principal and
regional GM
for South Australia and focusing on the mining, energy
and infrastructure sectors. Piraux’s 20-plus years’ of experience includes stints with
Norda Stelo, Validapro, AtkinsRéalis, le Centre de Recherche du Centre Hospitalier de
l’Université de Montréal (CRCHUM) and VIA Rail.
Alejandro Oruña
JCB Construction Canada announced the appointment of Mr. Alejandro
Oruña, as vice president, Construction. Working at JCB since 2017,
he has been responsible for many flagship projects for the company,
including the construction of the carbon-neutral campus of Collège
Sainte-Anne in Dorval and the development of the prestigious Royalmount food hall.
Previously serving as project director, Oruña will now assume the role of VP with the
aim of optimizing the company’s construction processes.

Anthony Minniti
Anthony Minniti is the new president of CGI Constructors. A part of the
CGI team for the past 17 years, Minniti has held several key positions
within the organization. Most recently he served as the vice-president
of operations for Canada. He was also the founding partner spearheading the company’s expansion into Western Canada in 2007, and through the years has
expanded his leadership to Canada-wide operations.
Stephen Willis
Stantec appointed Stephen Willis as its Infrastructure federal sector
leader for Canada. He is a registered professional planner and a professional land economist with over three decades of experience in the
federal infrastructure industry. In his new role, Willis will collaborate
across disciplines and sectors within the firm’s Infrastructure practice and will help to
identify opportunities for the Government of Canada and federal crown corporations
and agencies. Previously, he held a senior position with the City of Ottawa and served
as the executive director of Capital Planning for the National Capital Commission in
Ottawa. In his various roles, he has been involved in numerous major transportation
and public building projects in the National Capital Region.
Don Wightman
The British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) announced
the election of Don Wightman to the role of board chair for the
2024-2025 term. Based in Coquitlam, Don is the president of PML
Professional Mechanical Ltd., a company he founded in 1995.
Wightman has been an active member of the Vancouver Regional Construction
Association board since 2014, helping to lead the organization as secretary/
treasurer, vice chair, and chair. He has served on the BCCA board since 2018, most
recently as treasurer.
Jérôme Pelletier
The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies-Canada
(ACEC) announced Jérôme Pelletier, P.Eng., president and CEO
of BBA, as the new chair of the ACEC board of directors for the
2024–2025 term. With over 20 years of experience at BBA, Pelletier
is known for his ability to engage talented teams and lead them in helping clients
transform using reliable, safe, and sustainable solutions. His success stems from a
deep understanding of industry challenges and sharp business acumen in a rapidly
changing world.
Thomas Rapley
Thomas Rapley has joined Arup as its water business leader
for Canada. Rapley has more than 20 years’ experience in
municipal infrastructure design and construction spanning
Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, including stints
with consulting engineering firms Buro Happold, WSP and, most recently,
CIMA+. He has focused on water-related projects for the past 18 years, including
Peel Region’s Victoria Reservoir.

The Canadian Council for PublicPrivate Partnerships announced
its 2024-2025 Board of Directors.
The 28-person volunteer board, included three new directors: Daniel Farina,
General Manager, CDPQ Infra; Crystal Nicholas, President & Interim General
Manager, Wskijinu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency Ltd.; and Pierre Lafond, Executive Vice
President, Alternative Projects and Technical Center of Expertise (APEX), Pomerleau.
