Jazz Pabla, Pierre Pichet
WSP in Canada announced the hiring of Jazz Pabla as
chief innovation officer and the appointment of Pierre
Pichet as chief operating officer. With close to 20 years
working in the Canadian information technology and digital transformation space, Pabla spent the past four years leading Information Services for
the City of Kelowna where he worked to automate key municipal processes. Pichet joined
WSP in Canada in 2023 as executive vice president–Project Delivery.
Sophie Morin, Pierre Lafond
Pomerleau announced the appointments of Sophie
Morin as its new executive vice president and chief
legal officer and Pierre Lafond as executive vice president-APEX. Currently, Morin is one of two women on the
Executive committee. In 2018, Morin joined Pomerleau as senior legal counsel and
was quickly promoted to director and then vice president – Legal Affairs and Operations. Since joining Pomerleau in 2016, Lafond has developed and grown the entire
APEX team, in charge of putting together proposals and winning alternative projects,
while controlling the associated risks.
Mike Rencheck, Eric Chassard
Bruce Power announced that Mike Rencheck,
currently president and CEO, will be retiring from
this position effective June 30, 2024, and will
assume the role of executive vice chair. With
this retirement, Eric Chassard will be promoted to the position of president
and CEO effective July 1, 2024. Chassard joined Bruce Power in 2019 as the
executive vice president of Projects and Engineering. In this role, he successfully led the on-time and on-budget delivery of our Life Extension program and
implemented a comprehensive project management technique and a long-term
procurement strategy securing partnerships through the end of our six-unit
refurbishment undertaking.
Jason Thorne
Stantec hired Jason Thorne as sector leader for its urban places
practice in Canada. Based in Toronto, Thorne has more than
20 years of planning and community development experience,
including roles with Ontario’s Bruce Trail Association, Toronto Bay
Initiative (TBI), Metrolinx, Regional Architects (now SvN Architects+Planners)
and the Centre for Urban Growth and Renewal. He was most recently Hamilton’s
general manager of planning and economic development.
Dr. Ali Hadayeghi
CIMA+, announce the nomination of Dr. Ali Hadayeghi as national
vice president, Mobility. Dr. Hadayeghi joined CIMA+ in 2009 and is
a licensed professional engineer in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and
Saskatchewan. He holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering and a
Master of Applied Science in Transportation Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Geneviève David Watson
Englobe announced the appointment of Geneviève David Watson as
its new Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) Director. David Watson
joins Englobe from Groupe Montoni, where she designed and drafted
the company’s ESG Plan and all related outreach programs and communications, built a multidisciplinary team, and provided senior management with
expert advice on the strategies and programs to be developed and implemented.
Sophie Duchesne
The board of directors of the Center for Expertise and Research
in Urban Infrastructure (CERIU) announced the appointment of
Sophie Duchesne as president of the board of directors, succeeding Jack Benzaquen. Duchesne is a professor at the Centre
Eau Terre Environnement of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique
(INRS), where she is scientific head of the Laboratoire de gestion hydraulique
des réseaux de distribution de l’eau potable and holder of the Chaire municipale en gestion durable de l’eau. Duchesne has been involved with CERIU for
several years, including as a member of the board and the executive committee
as Institutional vice president.

Steven Crombie
The Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) welcomed Steven Crombie
as senior director, Public Affairs. A seasoned public affairs professional with
industry association and government experience, Crombie brings a unique
blend of heavy civil construction and policy expertise and a proven track
record of advancing the priorities of the construction industry.
Wayne Ferguson,
Mike Armstrong, Brad Cyr
EllisDon announced three Eastern Canada leadership appointments. Wayne
Ferguson was promoted to the role
of SVP, Construction, Buildings, encompassing Ottawa, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada
regions; Mike Armstrong assumed the role of VP and Area Manager for Ottawa, and
Brad Cyr was promoted to VP and Area Manager for Quebec.
Chris Hunter
GHD named Chris Hunter, based in Waterloo, Ont., as its new CEO for
the Americas. Hunter earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
at Hamilton’s McMaster University before joining GHD as a graduate
engineer in 1999. Most recently Hunter served as executive general
manager of operations in Canada. In his new role, Hunter will lead a team of more
than 4,500 professionals across Canada, the U.S. and Chile.

Flatiron Construction announced the appointment of
Ken Tanner to vice president and district manager of Canada.
He joined Flatiron following graduation from college and has
progressed through vital roles from field engineer to structures
superintendent to project engineer to project manager to area manager, and
three years ago to operations vice president.

Pascale Johnson
Clifton Engineering Group welcomed the
additions of Lyndsey MacBride, M.Sc., P.Geo.,
as the new director, Environment and Pascale
Johnson, B.Eng., P.Eng., as principal environmental engineer. Bringing over
20 years of experience in the mining, infrastructure, gas and industrial
sectors, MacBride’s expertise includes environmental planning, regulatory
permitting, impact assessments, and engagement with public and Indigenous
communities. With over 23 years of experience in environmental engineering,
particularly in the energy, mining, and industrial sectors, Pascale will focus
on advancing Clifton’s environmental discipline and strategic project support,
especially in Alberta and Western Canada.
