Rehan Wasti, Corey McNair
WSP in Canada announced Rehan Wasti has been
appointed to the position of sector leader, Energy,
Resources and Industry (ERI) and that Corey McNair,
WSP’s senior vice president – Environment for Ontario
and Atlantic, has been promoted to sector leader for Earth and Environment (E&E).
Rehan previously served as WSP’s senior vice president of ERI Sector Operations.
He began his career at WSP in 2019, joining the company as its Vice-President for
Mining and progressed to Vice-President for Resources. McNair originally joined WSP
in 2019 as the company’s vice president – Transportation, Major Projects.
Sharon Clark-Koufis
The Surety Association of Canada (SAC) announced the promotion
of Sharon Clark-Koufis to the newly created role of vice president,
Operations. Clark-Koufis joined the association in 2018 as manager,
then director of Operations, Membership and Stakeholder Services.
Prior to joining SAC, Clark-Koufis served in various roles in both the corporate
and non-profit sectors, bringing over 30 years of experience in client and member
relations, corporate communications, marketing/brand development, event planning
and management.
Jennifer Price
McElhanney announced that Jennifer Price has succeeded Allan
Russell as president and CEO. Price brings a wealth of experience and
a proven history of leadership in the engineering consulting industry.
Her previous roles include CEO, US of Buro Happold, and executive and
senior leadership positions at AECOM, CH2M, and GHD.
Geoff Stewart, Josh Morgan
Having served on FCM’s Board of Directors
since 2017, Geoff Stewart, Deputy Mayor of the
Municipality of the County of Colchester, NS, was
elected as the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’
(FCM) president. He is currently serving his second term as Deputy Mayor and
his third term on council. Stewart is also a former president of the Nova Scotia
Federation of Municipalities. London Mayor Josh Morgan assumed the role of chair
of the FCM’s Big City Mayors’ Caucus after being elected by his peers. He succeeds
Mayor of the Halifax Regional Municipality Mike Savage, who has served in the role
since 2021. Morgan has been an active member of FCM’s Board, including as chair
of the Standing Committee on Community Safety and Crime Prevention, and vice
chair of the Elections Readiness Working Group.
Loraleigh Kovacik
RAM Consulting announced the appointment of Loraleigh Kovacik
as vice president of Business Development. Kovacik previously held
leadership positions for ATCO Infrastructure Services, Rogers Communications and Sprint Canada. Her background includes significant
achievements in long-term growth and market strategy development, organizational
and operations structure optimization, and building world-class business development and project delivery teams.
Stephanie Bellotto
The Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association (OSWCA)
and the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association (GTSWCA) announced Stephanie Bellotto as manager of
Government Relations and Communications. Bellotto brings extensive
experience in provincial government, with a strong background in communications,
issues management, and stakeholder and media relations. She most recently served
as Premier Doug Ford’s Regional Press Secretary and held several positions within
the government over the last five years, including with the Minister of Municipal
Affairs and Housing.
Mike Murray, Dale Dionne
CIMA+ announced the appointments of Mike Murray
as director of Project Delivery Office, and Dale Dionne
to the newly created role of vice president, Municipal and Transportation Design, Ontario. Based in
Vancouver, Murray will assume the role for the firm’s services to BC Hydro & Power
Authority (BC Hydro), focusing on Transmission and Distribution Engineering and
Project Delivery Services.
Allan Danroth
The Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board announced that Allan Danroth
has been named as the new president and CEO of Manitoba Hydro.
Danroth succeeds Hal Turner, who served on an interim basis following
the departure of Jay Grewal in February. He joins Manitoba Hydro from
Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries, where he served as vice president of Operations.
Before joining Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries, Danroth held senior leadership positions
at Capital Power and AV Nackawic.
Aaron Engen
Demetrios (Jim) Athanasiou
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation’s Board of
Directors announced the appointment of Demetrios (Jim) Athanasiou as its next president and CEO, replacing Terence F. Bowles, who
is retiring, having taken over this role in November 2010. Athanasiou
joined the SLSMC in 2008 as Corporate Mechanical Engineering Manager. He followed this with ever-increasing responsibility, including as vice president Engineering
and Technology.
The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) Board announced that
Aaron Engen assumed the role of president and CEO, following the
departure of Michael Law, who served in the role since 2019. Engen
has served on the AESO’s board of directors since 2020 and previously
served as the chair of the Power System Committee. He has over two decades of investment banking experience most recently as vice chair, Investment & Corporate Banking
at BMO Capital Markets. His work focused on energy infrastructure including power and
utilities and he co-headed the bank’s Power & Energy Infrastructure group.
Mark White
Javier Sevilla Roca
HOCHTIEF announced the promotion of Javier Sevilla Roca to Chief
Executive Officer of Flatiron. Prior to joining Flatiron in 2013 as Chief
Operating Officer, Roca was CEO of Pulice Construction, a U.S.based heavy civil general engineering contractor and construction
management firm. He built the foundation for his career in Spain at the project
level for Dragados, serving as project director for the Perpignan-Figueras high-speed
rail project creating the rail link that connected cities in France and Spain, and as
district manager for Dragados in the Catalonia region of Spain.

The Government of Ontario appointed Mark White as the new chair of
the Ontario Energy Board. White is an accomplished leader in regulation, policy and governance and has a strong background in law, risk
management, markets and organizational transformation. Previously, he
was the inaugural CEO of Ontario’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority and has experience as senior vice president and head Enterprise Risk at Bank of Montreal, and as
a managing director and capital markets business leader at the Royal Bank of Canada.
He practiced business and regulatory law as both in-house and external counsel and
was a partner at Ernst & Young.
