Charlotte Mitha
BC Hydro announced the appointment of Charlotte Mitha as its
new president and CEO, effective Aug. 1, 2025. She will succeed BC
Hydro’s outgoing president and CEO Chris O’Riley, who is retiring
after 35 years. Mitha brings three decades of experience in B.C.’s
energy sector, including more than five years as BC Hydro’s executive vice president
of Operations, where she led a workforce of 3,000 employees across the province.
Jodie Atkins
Entuitive announced Jodie Atkins as its newest senior associate based in
Toronto with the Transportation Group. Atkins brings a wealth of expertise in
transportation infrastructure, bringing more than 25 years of experience. Her
ability to deliver complex bridge and transportation infrastructure projects
using traditional and alternative procurement models is bolstered by a decade of public
sector leadership and a strong background in complex infrastructure delivery.
Karla Avis-Birch
Arup announced the appointment of Karla Avis-Birch as Major
Rail project leader. Based in Toronto, she will lead the delivery
of large-scale rail projects across Canada. With more than 25
years of experience in management, construction, and executive
leadership, Avis-Birch most recently served as chief planning officer at Metrolinx.
She was also appointed to the Board of Directors for the implementation of the
Gordie-Howe International Bridge, a landmark infrastructure project.
Alexander (Sandy) Taylor, Dietmar Reine
AtkinsRéalis announced the expansion of the nuclear sector’s
senior leadership team with the addition of Alexander (Sandy)
Taylor as president and CEO of Candu Energy Inc., and
Dietmar Reiner as senior vice president of Candu Canada.
A respected industry veteran who was responsible for Candu Energy Inc. from 2014-2022,
Taylor has remained active as a special advisor to the company’s nuclear sector, playing
a key role in the negotiations for AtkinsRéalis’ contract with Ontario Power Generation for
the Pickering CANDU Life Extension project. Reiner, who until 2021 was chief project officer
and SVP – Enterprise Projects at Ontario Power Generation, will oversee Candu Energy’s
Canadian nuclear projects. This includes the Darlington and Pickering CANDU life-extensions,
as well as the Darlington New Nuclear Project to deliver the G7’s first grid-scale SMR.
Simon Ng
AECOM announced Simon Ng has been appointed to the role of
senior vice president, Strategic Business Development Alternative
Delivery. Ng began his career at AECOM as an alternative delivery
manager, playing a key role in winning major alternative delivery
projects and serving as a design lead on several projects, including two Alberta
P3 highways. He also served as the project manager for the owner’s engineer role
on the Right Honorable Herb Gray Parkway.
Alam Ansari, Normand Landry
EXP announcer the promotions Alam Ansari,
M.Sc., P.Eng. to vice president, Eastern Ontario
Infrastructure, and Normand Landry, P.Eng., to
vice president of Business Development for the
Canadian Federal Sector. Since joining EXP in 2000, Ansari has served as senior
project manager and director of Operations, Eastern Ontario. Bringing over 35
years of experience in infrastructure design, construction management and
contract, he has managed hundreds of major projects, including Thunder Bay
Correctional Complex and Library and Archives Canada, New Preservation Centre.
With more than 30 years of experience in consulting, Normand brings a wealth
of knowledge in civil and structural engineering, design, project management,
proposals and construction for bridges and buildings.
Warren Roll
Fengate Asset Management announced the appointment of Warren Roll as
managing director, Head of Digital Infrastructure. He brings more than 25
years of experience to Fengate across global private equity, mergers and
acquisitions, asset management, and operations in various infrastructure
sectors. Prior to joining Fengate, Roll spent more than 10 years as a senior executive at
DigitalBridge where he led their fiber and small cells strategy.
Kumail Moledina
CIMA+ announced the appointment of Kumail Moledina as senior director,
Transmission and Distribution in Alberta. Formerly vice president, Climate
Adaptation and Reliability at ATCO Electric, Moledina brings over two decades
of experience in engineering, namely in the energy sector. He has successfully
led multidisciplinary teams, and major infrastructure projects and brings deep knowledge of
the industry and its key players.
Alaa AbuSiam
Egis announced the appointment of Alaa AbuSiam as new CEO of
the Americas Region. He has been at the helm of Egis in the Middle East and South Asia since 2021. Under his leadership, Egis
experienced remarkable growth, with a strategic transformation
in the MESA region anchored on growth and regional talent development, and
the acquisition and integration of six major regional firms, while fostering organic
growth and building teams in complex markets
Anca Drexler
The Building Ontario Fund welcomed Anca Drexler, CFA as
its inaugural chief investment officer. With over 25 years of
institutional investment experience, she is a seasoned financial
industry executive with over 25 years of experience in institutional
investing and risk management. She held several senior roles at OMERS, most
recently serving as EVP, where she was responsible for the management of liquidity, funding, foreign exchange, and economic research for the overall portfolio.
Previously, she spent several years at OPTrust, including as chief risk officer.
