The new North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant will serve over 300,000
residents and businesses in the Districts of North and West Vancouver, the City of
North Vancouver, and Swxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), and slilwta
(Tsleil-Waututh Nation). It will replace the existing Lions Gate Wastewater Treatment
Plant on the North Shore, one of the last plants on the west coast of Canada and the

United States to provide only primary level wastewater treatment. Building a new
wastewater treatment plant that provides a higher level of treatment is essential
to comply with mandatory federal regulations. It will also ensure the treated
wastewater released into the marine environment of the Burrard Inlet is much
cleaner.
HEALTHCARE
South Niagara Hospital
$3.6 BILLION
The new South Niagara Hospital project will
centralize services from existing facilities, making it
easier for residents to access the care they need at
one location, provide an overall better experience,
and enable communities to be healthier. Construction
reached the top floor of the hospital in the Fall of
2025, with the final structural concrete pour completed in November. On the building exterior, installation of
the glass curtainwall system is underway on levels 1 to
5, and precast panels are being installed from levels
5 to 8.
