The Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels are integral parts of the
Montreal transportation network. The two tunnels are located in the axis of Route 136, formerly known as Autoroute
720 along a stretch commonly referred to as the Ville-Marie
highway. The Ville-Marie tunnel was inaugurated in 1974, followed by the Viger in 1986. The tunnels crisscross a densely
built environment area, both above and below ground, since
they coexist with the Montréal underground where there are
pedestrian tunnels, metro tunnels, commercial spaces and
parking lots.
The project is planned to be realized in six construction lots.
All four sub-lots of lot 1 are now under construction (anticipated
work time in brackets): 1A-The complete repair of the tunnels at
the exit of de la Montagne, including the dismantling of the last
paralumes (two years); 1B-the beginning of electrical migration
work towards 25 kilovolts (one-and-a-half years); 1C-the reconstruction of the decks of the Saint-Urbain and Saint-Laurent
overpasses (four-and-a-half years); and 1D-the replacement of
37 exhaust fans (three-and-a-half years).
The last paralumes have been demolished and most of the
contract work for lot 1A has been completed. Work for lots 1B
and 1C started this year.

The Bay Street project (CIBC Square) involves the construction
of two new commercial buildings, joined by a one-acre elevated
park over the rail corridor near Union Station. A key component
of the construction is the new Union Station Bus Terminal. Construction got underway on the terminal in 2017. The terminal
will provide connections for users of the rail and bus networks.
In March 2020, a modified site plan for the second building, 141
Bay Street, which will include accommodation for the potential
future LRT along the Bay Street corridor. The new Union Station
Bus Terminal was delivered by Metrolinx as part of the GO Expansion Early Works program.
Infrastructure Ontario
Trillium Health Partners is the largest community-based hospital network in Canada. This historic, multi-billion-dollar project
is a key part of Ontario’s plan to build a stronger, more resilient
health care system and Trillium Health Partners’ plan to create
a new kind of health care that serves the growing and diverse
communities in Mississauga and Etobicoke. Over the next 20
years, the demand for health care services offered by Trillium
Health Partners is expected
to increase by nearly seven
times more than the average
hospital in Ontario. In anticipation of this growth, the
new Peter Gilgan Mississauga
Hospital will fully replace the
existing Mississauga Hospital.
In September 2022, following
a fair and open two-phase RFP
process, EllisDon + PCL Health Care Partners submitted their
proposal. The project is being procured using a new progressive public-private partnership (P3) approach, which involves
both a Development Phase Agreement and a design-build-finance-maintain P3 Project Agreement.
