West Memorial Building
Rehabilitation Project

The Government of Canada is undertaking a comprehensive rehabilitation to modernize and conserve the West
Memorial Building, built in 1958 as a tribute to the men
and women who lost their lives in WWII and to honour
Veterans’ legacies for years to come. The work will not only
conserve this important tribute, but also make it more
efficient, greener, safer and more accessible for occupants
and visitors.
When completed, the West Memorial Building will host the
occupants, visitors, and functions of the Supreme Court of
Canada Building while it undergoes its own rehabilitation.

The Yellowhead Trail Freeway
Conversion involves converting the
existing corridor from an expressway
with signalized intersections to a
free-flowing freeway with grade-separated interchanges. The upgrade will
eliminate eight intersections, build
two new interchanges, modify three
existing intersections, and build new
collector roads. Construction on the
project continued in 2023, including:
Fort Road Widening (Yellowhead Trail
to 66 Street); continuing work on the
156 Street to St. Albert Trail project;
and early construction activities on the St. Albert Trail to 97 Street project. This year,
work on the Fort Road Widening project focused on completing the Canadian National Rail (CN) bridge over Fort Road and removing the temporary bridge detours.

Trillium Health Partners is the largest community-based hospital network in Canada. This historic, multi-billion-dollar project is a key part of Ontario’s plan to build
a stronger, more resilient health care system and Trillium Health Partners’ plan to
create a new kind of health care that serves the growing and diverse communities
in Mississauga and Etobicoke. Over the next 20 years, the demand for health care
services offered by Trillium Health Partners is expected to increase by nearly seven
times more than the average hospital in Ontario. In anticipation of this growth, the
