ONTARIO BREAKS GROUND ON PEEL
MEMORIAL HOSPITAL EXPANSION
THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO celebrated the groundbreaking of William Osler Health System’s new
Peel Memorial Hospital, which will add new
and enhanced services in state-of-the-art facilities, such as a 24-hour emergency department.
To date, the province has invested nearly
$46.8 million in capital planning funding
to build the new Peel Memorial Hospital
and signi昀椀cantly increase Osler’s ability to
connect more people in Brampton and Peel
Region to care
“Today marks a historic step forward in
Osler’s commitment to advancing health care
for our community as we break ground on the
early construction of the new Peel Memorial
Hospital,” said Dr. Frank Martino, president
and CEO, William Osler Health System. “This

moment not only paves the way for expanded
hospital services, but also honours 100 years
of quality, compassionate care on this site. As
we look ahead to a bright future of enhanced
medical services and greater access to care,
we are deeply grateful to our government
partners for their collaboration and investment in making this vision a reality.”
The new Peel Memorial Hospital will add new and
enhanced services in state-of-the-art facilities, such as
a 24-hour emergency department.
In November, 2024, Infrastructure
Ontario and Osler issued a Request for
Proposals (RFP) for the new Peel Memorial
Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project,
and prequali昀椀ed four teams: Progress Peel
Health Solutions; Pomerleau Healthcare
Partners; EllisDon Corporation; and Bird
Design-Build Construction Inc.
