63 West Memorial Building Rehabilitation Project $1 billion

Built in 1958, the West Memorial Building had remained vacant
since 2008 and had never undergone major repairs or renovations.
The Government of Canada is undertaking a comprehensive
rehabilitation to modernize and conserve the West Memorial
Building, making it more efficient, greener, safer and more accessible for occupants and visitors. When completed, the West
Memorial Building will host the occupants and visitors of the Supreme Court of Canada Building while it undergoes its own rehabilitation.
After the Supreme Court of Canada Building project has been
completed, the West Memorial Building will be used as long-term
office space for future federal government occupants.

The Kitchener GO extension will enhance train service over its
outermost segment to offer a versatile regional travel option
that runs outside rush hour. There will be more trips at every
point along the line—from Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Halton
Hills, Brampton, Mississauga, and Toronto, through track work
and new stations along the way, as part of an additional work on
the Kitchener Corridor. Some of the work entails: track work;
and Guelph locomotive relocation.

The new Toronto Courthouse will amalgamate several Toronto
courts located throughout the city. The building structure is
complete, including 16 levels of cast-in place concrete and two
levels of structural steel with metal deck. The building envelope
is also nearing completion and will be air and watertight by the
end of the summer. The curtainwall is complete on the East,
South and West facade’s, including the cable-wall system at this
atrium level, with architectural precast panels on the North
facade and elevator core. Finishes are ongoing in the atrium,
including the finishing of the concrete columns, which are over
20 meters tall, ceiling installation, and the installation of quartz
paneling at the feature stair area.
