The Project consists of a replacement community-level hospital,
with capacity for 204 inpatient beds, built to modern clinical and
technical standards on a greenfield site in the Municipality of
North Cowichan. The facility will provide patient care and pro-
grams to address future service needs for the region while including the following: total building area of approximately 46,000
square metres; capacity for core inpatient and ambulatory services, including a total of seven operating rooms, and additional
procedure rooms and outpatient/ambulatory clinic capacity,
expanded diagnostic imaging, and expanded emergency department capacity.
Two qualified teams, Alliance Care Partners and EllisDon +
Parkin, have been shortlisted to participate in the next stage of
the competitive selection process to design and construct the
hospital, as part of a two-phase RFP process.

This nearly 40-kilometre conversion to two-lane divided highway is the final step in the conversion of Route 185 to Autoroute
85, also known as Autoroute Claude-Béchard. The final portion
runs from Saint-Antonin to Saint Louis-du-Ha!-Ha!, connecting
Autoroute 20 at Notre-Dame-du-Portage to the New Brunswick
Work got underway in August 2019 and four of the seven sections have been commissioned.
71 Richmond Hospital Redevelopment $861 million

The Richmond Hospital Redevelopment Project will be conducted over four phases between 2022 and 2031. It is currently
in Phase one: Park Centre and Rotunda decant and demolition. This project includes a new nine-floor acute care tower
– the Yurkovich Family Pavilion – that will add 113 new beds
to the hospital bringing the total to 353 beds. This project will
feature a state-of-the art emergency department and intensive care unit, a fully equipped medical imaging department,
a pharmacy and short-stay pediatrics unit to bring more services and better care for people in the growing Richmond
community. The South Tower will be renovated to create new
inpatient psychiatry and psychiatric emergency units and the
Milan Ilich Pavilion will also be renovated and be home to the
Cancer Care Clinic.
72 Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre $800 million

The Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre ANMRC is
not only the cornerstone of the Government of Canada’s $1.2
billion investment in the site revitalization of the Chalk River
Laboratories, but also the future facility for Canada’s worldclass research of next generation nuclear technologies.
The 10,000-square-metre ANMRC is expected to be critical to
the life extension and long-term reliability of existing reactors,
including Canada’s fleet of CANDU reactors and other designs
deployed around the world.
Construction of the new laboratory research complex is being
managed via an integrated project delivery (IPD) agreement.
