The project aims to renew a radio network used by 38,000 frontline
and emergency responders over 750,000 square kilometres. The
contract to build the system’s land mobile radio network—which
includes core infrastructure, support antennas, servers, and data
centre equipment—was awarded to Bell Mobility Radio. It will also
provide first responders, as well as their dispatchers, with new radio equipment and consoles and provide network and radio equipment maintenance services for 15 years.

The Great Plains Power Station is the latest natural gas power
plant being constructed in Saskatchewan, following the successful completion of the Chinook Power Station in 2019. The
Great Plains Power Station is being constructed as a 350-Megawatt combined cycle plant, very similar to specifications of the
Chinook project.
In 2022, construction of the pilings, foundations, and underground installations was completed. As well, the steam turbine
and generator arrived, and the erection and insulation installations continued to support enclosing the building. Powerhouse
mechanical and electrical installations are also in progress.

Hydro-Québec will invest $750 million to refurbish its Carillon
generating station, mainly to replace six generating units. Carillon generating station is a run-of-river power plant consisting of
14 generating units with a total installed capacity of 753 MW. Built
in the early 1960s, it is a key part of Hydro-Québec’s hydroelectric
generating fleet. The station is close to the greater Montréal area
and feeds power into the grid during peak consumption periods.
