Redevelopment

The Richmond Hospital Redevelopment Project will be conducted
over four phases between 2022 and
2031. It is currently in Phase One:
Park Centre and Rotunda decant and
demolition. This project includes a
new nine-floor acute care tower—the
Yurkovich Family Pavilion—that will add
113 new beds to the hospital bringing
the total to 353 beds.

METRO VANCOUVER
There are over 20 projects planned as part of the onsite improvements of the
Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant. Key improvement projects include new
trickling filters, secondary clarifiers, and a co-generation facility to make better use
of green energy captured on site. Detailed design of the remaining Phase 2 Final
Works is underway with construction anticipated to commence in 2026.

There are two major components of this redevelopment: (Project 1) construction
of a new patient tower and expansion and renovation of the existing hospital’s main
building; and (Project 2) construction of an ambulatory building. The project will
upgrade several services throughout the hospital site including: an additional patient
tower; six new operating rooms; new Medical Device Reprocessing department; new
cardiac catheterization labs; renovations to various areas within the main building;
newly renovated and expanded emergency department, and; and a new ambulatory
clinic building to be located adjacent to the surface parkade.
