Highway 1 Upgrades

The Government of B.C. has embarked on
a 10-year project to expand the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) between the city of
Kamloops and the Alberta border. There are
seven sections of the work that are scheduled
for completion: Chase four-laning at a cost of
$220M; Ford Road to Tappen Valley overhead,
at a cost of $243M; Salmon Arm west, at a cost
of $155M; Bruhn Bridge, at a cost of $224.5M;
Illecillewaet, at a cost of $85.2M; Quartz Bridge
and four-laning at a cost of $123.7M; and Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4, at a cost of
$601 million.

SmartTrack Stations Program
$1.7 BILLION
The SmartTrack Stations Program will improve
transportation choice within Toronto by leveraging
existing transit infrastructure to serve more people.
Combined with Metrolinx’s GO Expansion Program, the
SmartTrack Stations Program will transform heavy rail
infrastructure in Toronto from a regional commuter
service into an urban rapid transit network. The
SmartTrack Stations Program will see five stations constructed at Finch-Kennedy, East Harbour, King-Liberty,
Bloor-Lansdowne, and St. Clair-Old Weston.

Once complete, the new regional health campus
will allow WAHA to expand its health promotion and capacity building programs, better accommodate primary
healthcare services and provide improved access to
Indigenous communities living along Ontario’s James
Bay and Hudson Bay coasts. The project includes
an acute care hospital, a larger 24-hour emergency
department, a new 32-bed Elder Care Lodge, modern
state-of-the-art suites, expanded mental health and
addictions programming, residences for staff, and a
hostel for patients and visitors.
