This crossing is the largest and most ambitious binational border infrastructure
project along the Canada–United States border. It includes a new six-lane bridge
across the Detroit River, associated border inspection plazas, and connections
to the freeway systems in Ontario and Michigan. In the summer of 2024, work to
connect the bridge deck between Windsor and Detroit, was completed, with the
bridge becoming an official border crossing. Completion of the project is planned
for September 2025, with the first vehicles expected to travel across the bridge.

The Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project is a 16-kilometre extension of the Expo Line. Major construction began
in 2024, with guideway, stations, and systems and trackwork contractors now in place. Once complete, people
in the region will be able to travel between Langley City and Surrey Centre in approximately 22 minutes and
between Langley and downtown Vancouver in just more than an hour.
