The Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP) is a key component of the broader
Highway 99 Tunnel. The new crossing will be an eight-lane immersed tube tunnel
with three general-purpose lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction.
The new tunnel will also feature a separate multi-use path to support pedestrians,
cyclists and other active transportation options. The project also includes replacing
20
the existing Deas Slough Bridge and the Highway 99 upgrades between Westminster
Highway in Richmond and Ladner Trunk Road in Delta.

Accelerated High-Speed Internet
Program (Ontario Connects)
$3.9 BILLION
As part of a nearly $4 billion project to connect
every region in Ontario to reliable, high-speed internet,
Infrastructure Ontario led an innovative procurement
process that enabled Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
to bid for provincial funding through a series of reverse
auction events for defined geographic areas and based
upon requirements for high-speed internet infrastructure deployment. In 2024, the Province announced a
partnership with Starlink to launch the new Ontario
Satellite Internet (ONSAT) program, which will offer
high-speed satellite internet access to 15,000 eligible
unserved and underserved homes and businesses,
including in rural, remote and northern communities,
beginning in June 2025.
