PORT
Roberts Bank Terminal 2
$3 BILLION
Roberts Bank Terminal 2 involves the construction
of a trade-enabling three-berth marine container
terminal on new federally-owned land, built in subtidal
waters to minimize environmental effects. The terminal
will increase container terminal capacity by more
than 30% on Canada’s west coast, strengthening
reliable access to goods Canadians use every day, and
playing a key role in supporting Canadian exporters to
increase trade with economies around the world.
The project includes: construction of new land
and a wharf that will accommodate a new marine
container terminal with a throughput capacity of up
to 2.4 million twenty-foot equivalent (TEU) containers
annually; a widened causeway to accommodate ad-
28
ditional road and rail infrastructure and link existing
networks to the marine terminal; an expanded tug
basin for additional tugs; and environmental projects,
such as habitat offsetting, construction mitigation
programs, and a monitoring follow-up program.
The Government of Canada and Government of B.C.
approved the project in 2023, after a rigorous federal
and provincial environmental assessment process. Before construction can begin, more steps are required,
including obtaining a Fisheries Act Authorization,
ongoing consultation and collaboration with First
Nations, engagement with local communities, continued market condition assessment, procurement, and
preparation for a final investment decision.
HEALTHCARE
Surrey Hospital and
B.C. Cancer Centre
$2.88 BILLION
The first of its kind in British Columbia, the new Surrey hospital and B.C. Cancer Centre
will be a fully digitally equipped, fully electric facility that will be at the forefront of health
care innovation, technology and sustainability. The new state-of-the-art hospital will provide increased capacity in areas such as emergency, surgical, inpatient, ambulatory care,
medical imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, and cancer care services, to support thousands
of additional patients every year. The new hospital and cancer centre will feature 168
acuity-adaptable inpatient beds, a surgical/perioperative suite with five operating rooms,
four procedure rooms, and an emergency department with 55 treatment spaces.

SUBWAY
Broadway
Subway Extension
$2.8 BILLION
The Broadway Subway Project will see the addition of six underground stations and 5.7 kilometres of track to the Millennium
Line. The extension will run from VCC-Clark Station to Arbutus
Street; 700 metres will be elevated guideway and the remainder
will be tunneled. The commute from VCC-Clark to Arbutus Station
will take 11 minutes, saving the average transit commuter almost
30 minutes a day and will relieve congestion along Broadway. In
2024, tunnel boring operations finished, marking the completion
of the most technically complex and challenging part of the new
subway construction.
