Once complete in 2028, the new 15-storey tower, located on the current
Toronto Western Hospital campus on Bathurst Street in downtown Toronto,
will add: 82 patient beds, including new critical care beds; 20 state-of-theart operating rooms, including three new image-guided operating rooms
for complex neurosurgical and spinal procedures; and New single patient
rooms that are also strategically designed to enhance the hospital’s infection
control abilities to easily respond to future public health outbreaks.

Yellowhead Trail
Freeway Conversion Project
$1 BILLION
The Yellowhead Trail Freeway Conversion involves converting the existing corridor
from an expressway with signalized intersections to a free-flowing freeway with
grade-separated interchanges. The upgrade will eliminate eight intersections, build
two new interchanges, modify three existing intersections, and build new collector
roads. Construction on the 156 Street to St. Albert Trail segment was substantially
completed in 2024, along with the Fort Road widening project. Substantial work was
also done along the Yellowhead between 156 Street and St. Albert Trail, where three
lanes of traffic now flow in each direction

Rehabilitation Project

The program of work includes modernizing and conserving the West Memorial
Building and the Supreme Court of Canada Building. The West Memorial Building will
host the occupants and visitors of the Supreme Court of Canada Building while the
West Memorial Building is modernized. After the Supreme Court of Canada Building
Rehabilitation project is complete, the West Memorial Building, which has been vacant since 2008, will be used as long-term office space for future federal government
occupants.

The TerraCanada Science and Innovation hub will energize collaboration by establishing a multi-partner network
with facilities in the NCA and other regions across the country, including the recently opened laboratories in Mississauga
and Hamilton. Design began in 2024, with site preparation and construction starting in 2026. This project will include
benefits for Indigenous businesses through an Indigenous Participation Plan.The facility will house approximately 450
employees and scientists from Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
